Veteran small forward Richard Jefferson has really played well for the Spurs this year as he has really bought into the team style of play. He has played in 71 games (all starts) for the Spurs so far this year and he is averaging 30.6 minutes, 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Jefferson has shot 47.6% from the floor, 42.9% from three point range and 76% from the free throw line so far this year as he is taking good shots. With Tim Duncan down for a little bit, the Spurs probably wouldn’t mind to see Jefferson taking a couple more shots per game.

The Spurs have signed 23-year old rookie small forward De’Sean Butler. He didn’t get into any games for the Heat as he was still recovering from a torn ACL. Butler played in 146 games in his four years at West Virginia in which he averaged 30.8 minutes, 14.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Butler isn’t likely to get much P.T. the rest of the year for the Spurs as he is likely to be pretty rusty.
