The San Antonio Spurs should say “no thanks” to the Knicks
Rumors have been floating around that the Knicks want to trade for Tony Parker. It seems as if they are offering Danilo Galinari and Wilson Chandler up for him. Despite that being a decent return the Spurs should tell them “No Thank You”. Parker is only 28 years old and he is still a very solid basketball player. Plus, if he got traded that means his wife (Eva Longoria) wouldn’t be coming to the games anymore. Parker played in 56 games (50 starts) for the Spurs last season and he averaged 30.9 minutes, 16.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. He has now played in 668 games (655 starts) in his career with the Spurs and he has averaged 33.0 minutes, 16.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Parker is #5 all-time in Spurs’ history in games played (668), he’s #3 in assists (3,772), #10 in steals (635) and he is #4 in points scored (11,113). I think the Spurs should keep the big trio of stars they have (Parker, Duncan and Ginobili) and build the team around them.
