Antonio McDyess is playing well for the San Antonio Spurs

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 2 February 2010 at 6:11 pm

PF/C Antonio McDyess has played pretty well despite playing less minutes than he is used to. That is because of the depth the Spurs have at the power positions. McDyess has played in 44 games (20 starts) for the Spurs this season and he is averaging 20.8 minutes, 6.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. He is also shooting 51.7% from the floor but most of those shots are coming from inside the paint. Look for McDyess to really pick up his play in the playoffs for the Spurs as he will be fresh due to his lack of minutes this season.

there is a problem when the oldest guy on your team is playing better then the other spurs. the spurs are an average team at very best. they have done very little smart moves the last several years. they have gotten older and slower. i see the spurs barely making the tournament in the seven maybe 8th slot and losing in the first round. the team is just not that good anymore. jefferson trade goes along side the alfredo hughes move. they paid this completely overrated, avg player millions WOW!

I have a feeling that the Spurs are just going through the motions during the regular season. Because they are a older team I have a feeling that they aren’t giving it all every night tending to pace themselves for the long haul. I don’t like that idea because they will be a low seed just like you said John and I can’t see them beating the Nuggets or the Lakers on the road. I’ll be the first to admit that I liked the acquisition of Jefferson last summer but he just doesn’t look like he’s fitting in with the Spurs.
