San Antonio Spurs 89, Atlanta Hawks 74

The Spurs only scored 5 points in the 1st quarter last night but they held the Hawks to 33.3% shooting from the floor which allowed them to come back and win. Tim Duncan led the way for the Spurs with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots. Tony Parker also had a solid game as he finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 blocked shots. Manu Ginobili was only 4 of 13 shooting from the floor and he finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. The Spurs are now 38-17 on the season.

San Antonio Spurs 98, New Orleans Hornets 89

The Spurs outplayed the Hornets on Saturday Night, plain and simple. Manu Ginobili led the way for the Spurs in this game with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Tim Duncan stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocked shots. Tony Parker only shot 4 of 13 from the floor as he finished with 10 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. The Spurs are now 37-17 on the season.

San Antonio Spurs 100, Minnesota Timberwolves 99

The Spurs barely nipped the pesky T-Wolves in Minnesota last night. Manu Ginobili had an outstanding game to lead the way for the Spurs with 44 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Tim Duncan stuffed the stat sheet with 24 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 4 blocked shots. Mike Finley pitched in with 13 points and 2 rebounds. The Spurs are now 36-17 on the season.

San Antonio Spurs 85, Charlotte Bobcats 65

The Spurs outrebounded the Bobcats 54-38 and they held them to 28.2% shooting from the floor which explains the win on Tuesday. Manu Ginobili led the way for the Spurs with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Michael Finley pitched in with 14 points and 2 rebounds. Ime Udoka had a solid game as he finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists off the bench. The Spurs are now 35-17 on the season.

The San Antonio Spurs acquire Kurt Thomas from the Supersonics

The San Antonio Spurs have acquired F/C Kurt Thomas from the Seattle Supersonics for G Brent Barry, C Francisco Elson and a first round pick in 2009. Thomas gives the Spurs another big body to team up with Tim Duncan along the front line. Thomas played in 42 games (39 starts) for the Sonics this season and he was averaging 25.2 minutes, 7.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He also shot 51.3% from the floor with the Sonics. Thomas has now played in 789 games (565 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 27.6 minutes, 9.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. This was a good move for the Spurs who needed some help in the frontcourt.

36-year old Brent Barry played in 29 games (1 start) this season for the Spurs and he averaged 7.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Barry is a good shooter from anywhere on the court as he shot 46.1% from the floor, 40.7% from three point range and 82.1% from the free throw line. Francisco Elson played in 41 games (3 starts) this season for the Spurs and he averaged 13.0 minutes, 3.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.
