The Spurs have signed their first round pick from the 2005 NBA Draft.  Mahinmi is a 6′10″, 230 pound power forward who played in France last season.  He played in 33 games there and he averaged 12.7 minutes, 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.  He will likely take a seat at the end of the Spurs bench as a rookie.  The Spurs have also released point guard Vassilis Spanoulis who was acquired in a trade from the Rockets earlier this season.

The Spurs have signed free agent small forward Ime Udoka to a undisclosed contract.  This was a good move by the Spurs as it gives them a set of young, productive legs.  He played in 75 games (all starts) last season for the Trailblazers and he averaged 28.6 minutes, 8.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.  He also is a pinpoint shooter as he hit 46.1% of his shots from the floor, 40.6% from three point range and 74.2% from the foul line.

Udoka has now played in 87 games (75 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 26.3 minutes, 7.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.  He has hit 45.5% of his shots, 40.4% from three point range and 71.7% from the free throw line.
