The Spurs allowed the Rockets to hit 50% from the floor and that did them in last night.  Can’t blame Tim Duncan for the loss as he scored 37 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.  Manu Ginobili also had a decent game with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Michael Finley needs to step it up

Blogged under Need to step up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 24 January 2007 at 1:54 am

Finley has not played well lately and it’s hurt the Spurs a little bit.  In his last 8 games, Finley has averaged 20.1 minutes, 7.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.  His shooting has been way off as he’s only hitting 37.3% from the floor and only 23.3% from three-point range (7 of 30).  Finley needs to play better because the Spurs really depend on their bench to give them quality minutes.

Brent Barry steppin’ up for the Spurs

Brent Barry has been money off the bench as of late.  In his last 8 games, Barry has averaged 20.9 minutes, 9.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.  He’s also been really hot shooting the ball as he’s hitting 51% from the floor and 47.2% (17 of 36) of his three-point attempts.  The better he plays the more playing time he’ll get.
