The Spurs raced out to a 87-60 lead after three quarters and coasted the rest of the way as no player played more than 27 minutes.  The Spurs shot 50% from the floor and out-rebounded the Jazz 47-39.  Tony Parker led the Spurs in scoring with 22 points.  Tim Duncan had a solid game with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots.  Manu Ginobili scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.  Matt Bonner played well off the bench with 12 points and 5 rebounds.

The Spurs improved to 22-8 on the season with this win.

Francisco Elson injured

Blogged under Injuries, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Friday 29 December 2006 at 12:36 am

The Spurs will be without starting center Francisco Elson for about two weeks as he has a small tear in his rotator cuff.  Elson had been averaging 18.7 minutes, 5.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game so far this season.  Look for the Spurs to distribute his minutes among Fabricio Oberto, Jackie Butler, Robert Horry and Eric Williams.  The Spurs probably won’t miss Elson too badly because of all the veteran depth that they have in the frontcourt.

The Spurs get ambushed by the Bucks 114-107

The Spurs got outscored 31-20 in the 4th quarter and allowed the Spurs to hit 56.8% of their shots from the floor in this game.  Tim Duncan had a great game, so you can’t blame him for this.  He scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.  Tony Parker had an awesome all-around game with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists.  Michael Finley had a solid game with 15 points and 4 assists.  Eric Williams was solid off the bench with 14 points.

The Spurs fell to 21-8 on the season with this loss.

The Spurs totally destroy the Hornets 112-77

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 26 December 2006 at 3:00 pm

The Spurs shot an incredible 62.9% from the floor as a team in this game!  The Spurs also played some dirty D as they held the Hornets to 37.3% shooting from the floor.  Tony Parker led the way for the Spurs with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists.  Manu Ginobili also had a real solid game with 17 points, 4 assists and 3 steals.  Bruce Bowen played well on offense as he added 15 points.  Matt Bonner (14 points, 4 rebounds) and Michael Finley (12 points) both had solid games off the bench.  Tim Duncan didn’t play very much in this game and wound up with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

The Spurs improved to 21-7 on the season with this win.

Spurs blasted at home 97-78 by the Rockets

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 23 December 2006 at 12:34 pm

The Spurs got blasted 53-36 in the first half and never really made a comeback.  The Rockets allowed the Spurs to hit 51.4% of their shots from the floor and that was a big reason for the beating they took.  Manu Ginobili (23 points) and Tony Parker (21 points) were the only Spurs that played well on offense.  Tim Duncan didn’t shoot well (4 of 13) and wound up with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocked shots.

The Spurs fell to 20-7 on the season with this loss.
