Spurs can’t keep up with Warriors and lose 111-102

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 29 November 2006 at 3:22 am

The Spurs might have had a better chance in this game if Manu Ginobili would have played….but excuses are for losers.  The Warriors deserved to win because they played better on Monday Night.

Tony Parker had an excellent game directing the attack with 28 points and 7 assists.  Tim Duncan had another monster game with 22 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocked shots.  Michael Finley replaced Ginobili and had 18 points and 4 rebounds.  Beno Udrih (11 points) and Brent Barry (10 points) each played well off the bench.

The Spurs fell to 11-4 on the season after this loss.

The Spurs shot well (49.3% from floor) on Friday Night, but the Mavs even shot better (50%) and the Spurs just couldn’t overcome that.

Tim Duncan led the way with 29 points and 6 rebounds.  Tony Parker added 16 points and 4 assists.  Fabricio Oberto was super with 14 points and 11 rebounds.  Manu Ginobili had an off-night, hitting only 3 of 9 shots from the floor.  Ginobili finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds.

The Spurs fell to 10-3 on the season after losing to their rival.

Spurs demolish the Heat 106-86

The Spurs built up a halftime lead of 57-38, and shortly after Coach Popovich called off the dogs.  No player on the Spurs played over 30 minutes tonight.

Tim Duncan led the way with 19 points and 6 rebounds.  Manu Ginobili had a good game with 17 points and 4 rebounds.  Tony Parker did a fine job directing the offense with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.  Brent Barry (15 points, 6 rebounds) and Beno Udrih (13 points, 4 rebounds) were both solid off the bench.

Victories like this one are priceless.  To give the starters rest and get the bench some experience will do wonders for this team that now stands at 10-2 on the season.
